Custard cake “Vecriga”

According to the original recipe of 1971 from confectioner Uldis  Cirulis.

In Latvia, the name “Vecriga” means not only the historical center of the capital, but also a traditional choux pastry cake with curd filling.

Initially, they were called "Pockets".  According to the legend of the master of the confectionery shop the idea of Vecrīgas arose rather prosaically: when it was necessary to have a glass of cognac to eat, they decided to fill the empty Eclair with cottage cheese

At the core:

  • Choux pastry stuffed with curd cream and vanilla.
  • Due to handwork, finished products may vary slightly from the images shown.
